Carrick-on-Suir Athletic starlet does her club and town proud
Last Sunday week Sarah Bartley travelled to compete in the All-Ireland indoor track and field championships. Sarah already holds a multitude of All Ireland titles to her name and after a fantastic Munster campaign which included some personal bests a few more titles were not going to be beyond the realms of possibility.

At the event Sarah competed in both the long jump and the triple jump
At several stages during both competitions, she was either in the lead or in strong medal contention. Disappointingly this time, when the jumping was completed, Sarah was just pipped in both events, finishing an agonising, but more than respectable fourth in both disciplines.
The future is definitely very bright for Carrick-on-Suir AC with such talented athletes in their midst, and Sarah will be back again competing and no doubt bringing more medals back to the club.
As with all young sports stars special mention must go to Sarah’s parents, Tom and Lisa, who spend hours transporting Sarah to training and to competitions, their commitment to their daughter’s sport has ensured that her talent can be fully utilised.
